Saying that the reservation formula agreed upon by the Congress and Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel was constitutionally untenable, Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday accused both congress and Hardik Patel of cheating the people of Gujarat on the issue.
He also accused congress by saying that; congress is dividing the society for political gains ahed of the assembly polls next month.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley is in the Bharat Jantha Party’s election in charge for Gujarat. He accused that Congress’s attempt to gain political ground through such tricks would push Gujarat into anarchy and also said the reservation formula for the Patel community is legally and constitutionally untenable.
“Whatever promised under that reservation formula prepared by Congress is not possible as per the Constitution. Neither the Constitution nor the law permits the reservation above 50%. Both of them, those who promised it and those who accepted it, are cheating the people of Gujarat, and the people of Gujarat are smart and they will not fall on such type of deception” the Union minister said.
Hardik Patel pledged his support to the Congress for the Gujarat Assembly polls after accepting the reservation formula prepared by the opposition party three days ago.
Congress leadership is falling prey to the anarchist forces said by Jaitley without pointing any name.Congress is now trying to gain some ground by dividing the society by using these types of tricks. In another way, Congress has become dependent on those forces, which will bring nothing but anarchy. But people will not go with it and they know what to do.
