Wrestler to promote animated movie

It is a common practice to use an actor to promote the release of a movie. Such is the case that will take place in Dubai.

Professional wrestler and actor John Cena will be heading to Vox Cinemas, Mall of the Emirates on December 1 to promote his upcoming animated film, Ferdinand.

Cena will be attending a fan event that will be held at 6.30pm on the day.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha, the critically acclaimed film features the World Wrestling Entertainment star voice the title character Ferdinand, a gentle-giant Spanish bull that would much rather pick flowers than engage in a prize fight.

Ferdinand also features as the Children’s Gala screening on December 8 at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), which runs from December 6 to 13.

It is still not confirmed whether Cena will be attending the red carpet event at DIFF.

The 40-year-old star is best known for his WWE ring action, along with engaging in a public feud with actor and former WWE fighter Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson whom he accused of selling out to Hollywood; however, earlier this year Cena was quoted as saying he regretted his past comments.
