Variety’s 500 Most Influential People list, see your favorite celebrities’ name

People and children imitate their favorite celebrities, be it a fictional one or a real one. Check to see if your favorite celebrity is on the list of influential people.

Indian film celebrities Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar are among 12 Indians in Variety’s list of 500 ‘influential business leaders shaping the global USD 2 trillion entertainment industry’.

The Variety500 list is brought out after taking into account the accomplishments of the most influential people in the entertainment industry in a span of one year.

Salman’s profile in Variety talks about how his “every release generates mass hysteria across India, a frenzy surpassed only by the fans of South Indian superstar Rajinikanth.”

A tweet from the official Twitter handle of Variety read, “Salman Khan is one of the unrelated Khan triumvirate comprising Aamir and Shah Rukh that has been ruling the Bollywood box office for decades.”

The tweet also carries a link to the article, which lists down the ‘Sultan’ star’s latest and forthcoming work projects, along with news on his charitable organization, Being Human.

While, Priyanka’s profile boasts about her achievements, her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures and her Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education, which helps needy kids.
Besides Salman, Priyanka, and KJo, the other names include Ekta Kapoor, Aditya Chopra, Mukesh and Anil Ambani, Sidharth Roy Kapur, Subhash Chandra, Punit Goenka, Kishore Lulla and Uday Shankar.

The list released by the American magazine on Thursday has 12 Indian names who have been the most influential business leaders. According to the official website of Variety500, the index which reflects the accomplishments of its members over the previous 12 months is updated annually. The selections are made by the Variety editorial board, which conducts extensive research to come up with a list of best 500. This year, the list is led by the US (362) followed by UK (28), China (20), France (16), Germany (15), India (12), Italy (8) and Spain (6).
