The Bollywood movie ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ has taken the box-office by a storm by kick-starting the long festive Christmas and New Year season. The film, also starring Katrina Kaif in an action role, opened at a smashing of Rs 34 crore, becoming the fourth biggest opener of all time, barring the almost unbeatable ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
Interestingly, it is to be noted ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is dominated by Salman Khan’s previous blockbusters ‘Sultan’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ in the highest opening films’ category. After such an impressive start on a working Friday, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is expected to keep up the rhythm during the extended weekend with X-Mas falling on a Monday. The film is also enjoying a solo Bollywood release.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, certainly got ‘Swag se swagat’ with such a smashing welcome in the movie theatres. The action thriller also had Sajjad Delfrooz a prominent role besides Paresh Rawal, Angad Bedi, Kumud Mishra, and Nawab Shah. It takes forward the franchise after the original 2012 flick ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ which nailed the super hit jodi of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The story of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ revolves around the real incident of the hostage of Indian nurses by ISIL in 2014. The expensive film has been shot on a large scale amid the locales of Abu Dhabi, Austria, Greece, and Morocco.
The film also has other popular songs besides the super hit ‘Swag se swagat’ which include the theme song ‘Zinda Hai’, the Salman-Katrina romantic number ‘Dil diyan gallan’, ‘Daata tu’ and ‘Tera noor’.
