Doctors, at times, avail their services to the needy for free of charge, either as a part of the government scheme or out of their own goodness.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda lauded doctors for checking 1 crore pregnant women for free under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA).
Nadda yesterday took to Twitter saying, “one crore Antenatal Checkups (ANCs) were conducted under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA). I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors who have made this remarkable milestone possible. They heeded to the clarion call of Honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for sparing one day each month for this noble cause. #SwasthaBharat” (sic)
