Dubai ruler will become the subject of a new Hollywood project helmed by a Poland based production company which will portray the humanitarian contribution of Dubai ruler.
The 90-minute film titled “The Wisdom” is a story of a young blind girl who with the help of a humanitarian agency in Dubai gets her eyesight back to see the world and her new sight attains the wisdom that shapes the destiny of her people.
The story is inspired by the wisdom of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai and his humanitarian projects that touched millions of people worldwide.
Masuad Khan, CEO, and Chairman of the Poland-based production company Castillo Films, said he will allocate $150 million (about Dh550 million) to the film that eyes stars as high profile as Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Gere, Michelle Pfeiffer, Emma Watson and Nicole Kidman.
“We are targeting Emma Watson as the lead. The film be of a generic story not based on any religion or nationality,” said Khan, who was based in Dubai until 2012. He added that the company is currently in talks with the A-lists celebrities.
The production company is also eyeing one of three internationally-acclaimed directors–Tom Hooper of “King’s Speech, Buz Luhrmann of the “The Great Gatsby” or Wolfgang Peterson of “Troy”– to be part of this production.
The movie, he said, will be filmed in a remote village near Milan this year and will revolve around a blind girl who regains her eyesight thanks to a Dubai Humanitarian agency. The kind gesture impacts her life and allows her to share her wisdom to change other people’s lives, residing in her village.
The film’s music will be “Lost Tapes” by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in collaboration Mahmood Khan.
Khan said it took him two years to develop the 100-page script of the film. “The film will be as iconic as “Lawrence of Arabia” with one of the biggest ensemble casts to embrace the silver screen,” he noted.
The company, which is collaborating with Dubai-based the ministry of events and Dream Advertising, will also be organizing an event titled “A Salute to the Wisdom of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed” on March 7 to gather UAE’s seven wisdom ambassadors and UAE-based NGOs who can share their success stories, mission statements and achievements.
A wisdom museum will also celebrate top NGOs, visionaries with their books, quotes and photos, and education.
The company will also organize a “wisdom film festival” in Europe, bringing together international wisdom-themed movies.
Khan said the key is to create “a wisdom platform is that can spread the idea of wisdom in all entertainment forms.”
“The wisdom of His Highness inspired us to bring a platform to make Hollywood feature films with top billing stars and ensemble cast along with international directors, to execute such a story,” said Khan.
He added, “this is our way of giving back, even in small ways, and celebrating the wisdom Sheikh Mohammed inspired us with. Small gestures can impact people’s lives, and it’s our role to celebrate such figures.”
