Malayalam actress with a former husband alive and two children weds again

Malayalam actress Divya Unni got married for the second time on Sunday .The ceremony took place at the Sree Guruvayoorappan temple in Houston, where her new husband Arun has been working as an engineer reportedly for the last four years.

Divya, who was previously married to Dr Sudhir Shekhara, announced her separation in 2016, adds the report. Later, she ended her 14-year-old marriage and shifted back to Kochi with her two children, Arjun and Meenakshi.

In an interview to a local women’s magazine, she had said that it was “saddening and depressing” to end a relationship, which was meant to last forever. She also added that she would live for her kids.

While is it not clear the reason for the divorce, it has been speculated that her former husband Sudhir’s extramarital affair could have been the cause for the rift. However, reports have not been officially confirmed.

Divya was a promising actor in the 1990s and has acted with all the leading men of the industry including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Dileep and Suresh Gopi. She has worked in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films as well.
