Tamil Producer’s council to stop screening of movies from March 1st for this reason and an amicable settlement
The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has reportedly called for a shut down to challenge the rate charged by digital service providers who stream movies to theaters. The buzz is that no new films will hit screens from March 1 in the state.
Confirming the news, producer SR Prabhu (Treasurer, TFPC) tells us, “There will be a joint meeting between the members of four states in Hyderabad. We will get clarity on the issue after that.”

Report says, “The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has already called for a theatre shutdown from March 1 to express their displeasure with the exorbitant rate that digital service providers are charging to help stream films in the theatres. While the providers have said that they are ready to reach an amicable solution, the joint meeting will help in deciding the course of action.”
