UM Renegade Duty S and Ace launched in India
UM India has entered affordable two-wheeler market segment with the launch of two new cruisers, the Duty S and the Duty Ace at the 2018 Auto Expo. Both the models are priced similarly at Rs. 1.10 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Duty range will go on sale from July this year and the bookings will start soon.
The new Duty range utilises a new 223cc single-cylinder engine that is oil-cooled and fuel injected. The engine produces a maximum of 17 Bhp at 8,000 rpm and 17 Nm at 5,000 rpm. UM claims that both the Duty series motorcycles return about 41 km/l as per ARAI and get a 10-litre fuel tank capacity.
There is a 5-speed manual transmission that sends the power via a final chain drive. Both the bikes are same except colour changes. The Duty S comes with solid colour options while the Duty Ace gets a sportier, younger generation inspired colours.

The cruiser bikes get an upright riding position, thanks to the high handlebar. It also gets split seat. UM also offers a 360 degree LED lighting solution with the new bikes that add lights to the side too. This increases the visibility of the motorcycle in the dark and makes it safer.
The motorcycles will compete with the likes of Bajaj Avenger and Suzuki Intruder 155. It will also challenge the Royal Enfield Thunderbird in the Indian market.
