Shocking! 37-year-old TV actress gets molested at a fitness centre

A 37-year-old TV actress has filed a police complaint against a man from Versova alleging that she was molested by him at a fitness centre in Andheri (W) on Tuesday. 

According to a report in a leading daily, the suspect, who visits the fitness centre, allegedly harassed the victim by asking her for sexual favours and abused her after she rejected his demands on a few occasions. A case had been registered against the man, who has been identified as Vishwanath Shetty at Amboli police station.

The report further suggests that on Tuesday afternoon, the TV actress fought with Shetty after she learnt that he had sent some inappropriate text messages to her friend.

A case has been booked with Amboli Police under sections 354 (outrage modesty), 354 (A) (sexual harassment), 500 (defamation), 504 (insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. The DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) (zone IX) Paramjit Singh Dahiya, in a statement to the daily said, “We are going through CCTV footage of the fitness.

Senior inspector Bharat Gaikwad said that further probe is on, adding that, “No arrest has been made yet.” The police said, Shetty misbehaved and threatened the victim in front of her friends at the fitness centre. Meanwhile, Investigating officer Daya Nayak said, “We have issued a notice under CrPC section 41 to Shetty with orders that he must be present for inquiry before taking action.”
