Though no official confirmation is out, all the schools including the private ones were served notices to do away with “Yes, Ma’am” and use “Jai Hind” instead. On Tuesday, an order was issued by the MP government which said the students in the state-run schools were asked to say ‘Jai Hind’ when their names were called out. This order by Shivraj Singh Chauhan led government is expected to come into effect after the summer break.

Through the order which was issued on May 15 and signed by the Deputy Secretary School Education Pramod Singh, it has been made compulsory for all students to answer roll calls by Jai Hind.
There are about 1.22 lakh government schools in the state and they have to abide by this rule. The State Government has clarified that the decision was taken to instil patriotism among students. The private schools are also likely to be issued the orders.
Media sources confirm that the Chief Minister had given the permission to the education department after which the order was passed to state-run schools.
Madhya Pradesh also grabbed headlines when they earlier instructed schools to hoist national flag every day. The Madhya Pradesh government under Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan also ordered to sing National Anthem daily.
