The city drenched in the TDP colour for Mahanadu

The Mahanadu will play an important role in poll preparation for the party cadres and leaders. The annual plenary of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), began, arrangements for the conclave are at its finishing stage. The city seems to be painted in the TDP colour. Hoardings and fliers in view at all the main junctions in the city.

All roads leading to the Siddhartha Engineering College grounds, where the Mahanadu is being organised, have been painted yellow in the form of TDP flags, banners, festoons and cut-outs. The photos of founder TDP founder president and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, Chief Minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Lokesh dominate most of them.

While the delegates are marching to attend the annual gathering, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is evidently working at its best to keep the city clean and presentable. The plants and trees on the junctions and medians are being painted as part of beautification plans. The VMC workers are seen working in hordes to replace the old ornamental plants with new ones.

Massive steel-framed pandals have been erected at the college grounds. Various committees under the leadership of senior leaders and ministers have been working 24X7 for making the Mahanadu a success. The three-day conclave will kick off on May 27. Mr. Naidu will arrive at the venue in the morning and after some customary programmes, make his inaugural speech.
