Bodh Gaya serial blast case, 5 accused rewarded life sentence

National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Patna, on Friday, awarded life imprisonment to the five convicts of Bodh Gaya serial blast case. The nine serial bomb explosion in the Buddhist pilgrim town caused five injured, including two monks, On July 7, 2013.

Patna court convicted Imtiyaz Ansari, Haider Ali, Mujib Ullah, Omair Siddiqui and Azharuddin Qureishi, on May 25 under the sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activity (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act.

Earlier, the sixth convict has been sentenced to three years of confinement in a remand home. Judge Manoj Kumar Sinha also sentenced convicts Haider Ali and Omair Siddiqui to 14 years and seven years of imprisonment respectively. The court imposed Rs. 10,000 fine on all the convicts.
