Ramadan Special Snacks Recipe : Onion Rings

The conventional onion rings can be made spicier by adding a few spices to the batter that will add flavor to this popular iftar snack.

Ingredients:

  • One Big onion – cut into thin rings
  • ¼ Tbsp black pepper powder
  • Oil for frying
  • For the batter
  • ½ cup gram flour
  • ¼ Tsp of fresh ginger paste
  • ¼ Tsp of Fennel seed powder
  • ¼ Tbsp of red chilli flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ cup water- to make a thick batter

How To Make:

  1. Make a thick batter using all the ingredients mentioned above.
  2. Heat some oil in a frying pan.
  3. Dip the onion rings, ensuring they are covered in batter.
  4. Deep fry until crisp and brown
  5. Garnish with cucumber and carrots and serve with chutney.
