Asha Gaikwad, a 40 year old woman was arrested on Friday night for her involvement in the alleged murder of her husband Shankar Gaikwad. The couple had a dispute regarding the sale of a property worth 15 crores, and the only way Asha found was to eliminate him out of her way. She teamed up with Himanshu Dubey, a hitman and promised him a sum of 30 lakhs for the job. 4 lakhs was paid as advance.

Asha allegedly added sedative to her husband’s juice and when he fell unconscious Himanshu and his team took care of the rest. He was assaulted with iron rods and stabbed to death.
Police are now enquiring about the other culprits who have aided them in the crime. They have been identified as Jagan Mahatre, Raj Singh and Pritam. Police have already got hold on the complete call history of the lady. Asha, after making sure the job was done had made a formal complaint to pllolice station on May 21 that her husband had gone missing.
Suvarna Pawshe, Shankar’s relative, said, “When we learned that Asha had wanted to sell Shankar’s property against his wishes, we once again approached senior officials, who handed over the case to senior police inspector Kavi Gavit of Kolsewadi police.”
It was a 25000 square feet massive property that Asha wanted to sell. She already engaged with a developer on the issue and even took 4 lakhs as advance from him. Shankar lived in Kalyan with Asha and their three children aged 8, 10 and 12.
Police grilled both Dubey and Asha together and both of them have confessed the crime.
