Bharatham

This all time musical hit of Malayalam cinema, which bagged the national award for Mohanlal owes a lot to its script written by Lohithadas. In fact Lohitha Das was penning for another movie, but then it was found that another film with a similar story line was in progress. He quickly conjured up the script of Bharatham and made it in to a huge success.

Chithram
One of Mohanlal’s career best, Chithram is also the film to run for 1 year continuously in theatres. The heroine of the film fell ill during the shooting and the shoot had to be stopped. After she recovered the film had to made quicker, but then the total duration amounted to almost an year.

Devadoothan
Sibi Malayil had planned this movie to be done with some youngsters. Inducting Mohanlal in to the title role was a last minute decision that paid well. The film may have failed in the box office, but has a cult following to it.

Akkare Akkare Akkare and Boeing Boeing
What sets these two movies together in a bracket is that Sreenivasan had not penned the script of the film completely while the shoot started. Akkare Akkare Akkare, the third movie in the sequel to Nadodikattu, was shot in America and Sreenivasan surprised everyone by appearing with a blank paper. But by his talent he could easliy work on it while shooting. SImilarly for Boeing Boeing, Sreenivasan was composing the next scenes while some scenes were being shot.

Director Bhadran had planned Mohanlal’s character to continue as a bad guy throughout the film, but Mohanlal intervened at the last moment and he wanted the character to show good shades towards the end. Mohanlal’s electrifying performance made the film an evergreen action flick.
