Airtel is now going another extra mile to make its tariff plans more attractive to beat the competition from the telecom players like Reliance Jio and Vodafone. The telecom service provider has come up with a new plan for prepaid users. The Rs 149 prepaid plan of Airtel now offers 2GB data per day for some users across different circles, that is up from 1GB data benefit, according to a report.
The telecom service provider offers voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. The plan works out per GB data at Rs 2.66. Reliance Jio also offers a Rs 149 prepaid plan. The voice calls in the Airtel plan is unlimited unlike Idea Cellular and Vodafone India whose voice call plans are limited.
Airtel is expected to roll out the plan to other users too shortly. Airtel’s plan of 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day is offered to most of the users.
This plan of Airtel is expected to give tough competition to Jio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan. Jio’s Rs.149 plan offers 1.5GB data per day. Besides that, the plan also offers unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days, according to Telecomm Talk. Airtel’s new plan offers 56GB data as compare to Jio’s plan gives 42GB data. Airtel is providing 2G, 3G and 4G data, but Jio is offering only 4G data. The data network on Airtel network depends on the network availability.
