Today, the Aam Aadmi Party’s hunger strike reaches the 7th day, and the strike has led to the ill-health conditions in the ministers.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, who is on hunger strike over AAP standoff with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has been hospitalised. Jain’s sugar levels had dipped on Saturday after which he tweeted a copy of his health summary, which said the ketone level in urine had increased by a “large amount.”

On Sunday night, the minister was rushed to the hospital and his health report this morning showed that his sugar level was 64 mg/dL and ketone level in urine was large. The blood pressure level was 96/68 and he weighed 78.5 kg, sources said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who shared the update on Jain’s health on Twitter is currently on a sit-in with three of his ministers at the Delhi L-G (Lieutenant Governor) Anil Baijal’s house. Kejriwal and three of his cabinet ministers –Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendra Jain and Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai have been camping in the Raj Niwas –the official residence of Delhi L-G, since June 11.

Among other demands, AAP wants an approval for his government’s proposal for doorstep delivery of ration to the poor.

Earlier, AAP workers tried to march to PM Modi’s residence but it was halted before they could reach Lok Kalyan marg to demand his intervention in the matter. AAP party workers and leaders gathered outside Mandi House metro station and shouted slogans against Delhi L-G Anil Baijal and IAS officers.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal has received support from four Opposition chief ministers – West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee, Karnataka’s HD Kumaraswamy, Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan and Andhra Pradesh’s N Chandrababu Naidu – who urged the Centre to “rise above politics”, solve the “constitutional crisis” and not “restrict the federal system”. The leaders, who were denied the permission to meet LG Baijal and Kejriwal on Saturday, plan to raise the issue during the NITI Aayog meeting on Sunday.

The CPI(M) also lent its support to the march, with party general secretary Sitaram Yechury condemning the manner in which the federal feature of the Constitution was being “undermined” by the BJP government at the Centre.
