Yet another instance of upper classmen’s superiority has been imposed on a Dalit man has come to light.
A Dalit man was allegedly forced to lick his own spit in public because his son married a girl from a different faith.
The incident took place in Habibpur village in Bulandshahr district, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a week ago.
Krishna, 44, was summoned by the village panchayat and assaulted after his son married the girl from another community.
Krishna’ son- a 21-year-old man had run off with an 18-year-old girl on the 6th of June, following which her family approached the police.
The couple was located in Delhi and was brought back home, where the girl said that she wished to live Krishna’s son. The couple was married the same day.
Under the pretense of settling the matter, Krishna was summoned before the panchayat by the girl’s family. “There were about 100 people, mostly locals from the upper caste and the family members of the girl,” Krishna said.

I finally did it.” The women in his family were threatened with rape by the panchayat members.
Krishna said that he & his family were living in fear and that his son & daughter-in-law are in hiding.
The matter was taken to the police, but no action was taken until the story was published by a local TV channel.
