Raju alias Madan, a 30-year-old prisoner has apparently written a letter to the P.M Modi seeking has permission to sell his kidney to fight his legal battle. It was back in 2014 that Raju was taken as a prisoner, in connection with an attempt to murder and rape a woman. Raju says he is innocent and that he was framed in the case.

Raju said he doesn’t have the money or resources to fight a legal battle. “I am poor and helpless and there is no legal help. I feel it is better to sell a kidney and fight the legal battle than to commit suicide”, He said.
He has requested the help of officials to sell one of his kidneys. However, the jail superintendent claimed that he was not aware of any letter written by Raju. He promised to check on this issue. Raju also reportedly has a brain tumour.
