After SFI activist Abhimanyu’s murder in Maharajas College garnered much media attention, the Kerala Police was forced by the government to launch a massive raid in the offices of SDPI, the Islamist fundamentalist group which is involved in the brutal murder of the SFI activist. At the inception of the issue, SDPI claimed that they didn’t have any links with Campus Front or its activists who killed Abhimanyu. But it turned out to be a move aimed at confusing the common populace and law enforcing agencies. Now the former Students Islamic Movement of India(SIMI), is all set to make the issue a communal one by playing the victim card. The intelligence report cites that they will deliberately try to create an impression of Mulsim hunt happening on behalf of the government. Following this DGP has asked all the Police chiefs to be vigilant.
The investigation so far has suggested terror links in the Abhimanyu murder case and it also suggests the murder as a terrorist activity. As Popular Front has cases in different states of India, National Investigation Agency(NIA) is also observing the issue closely. To defend themselves from all these, Popular Front like all times is trying to portray the
police actions as ‘Muslim Hunt’ and play the victim card.

An audio clip allegedly from an ISIS terrorist Rashid Abdulla, a Keralite who joined them, openly said about the aims and moves of Popular Front. After the formation of Islamic State, many Popular Front activists joined them including many top leaders from the former. Though the local populace was ignorant about that, NIA knew it all along, Rashid said all this as a new revelation in the audio clip.
Many Popular Front activists had reached Syria and attained martyrdom. India would be defeated by the IS in future and the war would go on until all the ‘Kafirs'(non-believers) would be killed, the audio clip revealed. This war Rashid said as the law of “Allah” and he demanded all Popular Front activists to revert to the founding aim of Popular Front and join
ISIS.
