Reliance Jio has made its JioPhone Monsoon Hungama offer live to give consumers new JioPhone in exchange with their old feature phones plus Rs 501. The scheme was announced by Mukesh Ambani in RIL’s 41st Annual General Meeting early this month. Ambani had announced that buyers could exchange their old feature phone with JioPhone for Rs 501 from July 21.
Customers will be able to exchange any old feature phone (of any brand) for a brand new JioPhone (existing model) at an effective entry cost of Rs. 501, Reliance Jio said. Such a low-entry cost practically makes it possible for every feature phone users to experience the power of data and internet for the first time ever, it added. Separately, Reliance Jio, a part of billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led conglomerate Reliance Industries (RIL), is also offering a 100 percent cashback on select prepaid recharge plans.

Almost one year after its launch, JioPhone has also got some significant feature updates. The feature phone has a voice assistant now. This means you can command the phone to perform some actions including calling, sending SMS, opening YouTube or WhatsApp and browsing Facebook. The features were demonstrated live during the AGM by Akash and Isha Ambani.
The latest offers from Reliance Jio come after Mr. Ambani launched a fibre broadband system – the JioGigaFiber – earlier this month.
