A man had opened 17 fake Facebook accounts in the names of police officers, including that of the higher official.
In Assam Guwahati, the Crime Department of the Police has detained the man who allegedly opened 17 fake Facebook accounts, including that of the Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia.
A fake Facebook account in the name of ‘Kuladhar Saikia’ was opened on June 11, but the DGP’s original account is in the name of Kula Saikia.

The accused was arrested on Saturday, identified as Suleiman Ibrahim Ali (30). The police have seized 47 cell phones, 13 tablets, 15 sim playing cards and different devices from him.
Contemplating the sensitivity of the crimes, the accused is being interrogated by the Guwahati Police Commissioner Hiren Chandra Nath himself together with different senior officers.
“Efforts are on to unearth if any massive scale conspiracy was behind the opening of so many pretend accounts on social media. Furthermore, restoration of numerous cell phones and different communication gadgets are a matter of significant concern,” a senior police official stated.
