England V India: Brilliant Come Back, The First Day Belongs to India

India scripted a brilliant comeback in the second and third session of the day to make the first day their own. India may have missed the services of another spinner, but Ashwin did well to cover up for it, picking up four wickets.
Score: England  285/9 in 88 overs

At one stage England was cruising as a partnership between Joe Root and Johny Bairstow seemed almost unbreakable. It was then that the Indian captain Virat Kohli produced a moment of brilliance on the field with a throw that caught Joe root short of the crease.

Since then, England kept losing wickets at regular intervals, falling from 216 for 4 to 285 for 9 in 88 overs. England would really look back at the runout and will ask why they rushed for a run with so much time left in the game. Ashwin stuck to his stock ball for the most part before unleashing his variations on the tail enders.

Indian seamers did well in the second and third sessions, bowling tight lines and putting up a spirited performance.
