As the Kauvery hospital released a press news that DMK supremo Karunanidhi’s health has declined, the cadres throng the hospital premises.
“Maintaining his vital organ function continues to remain a challenge considering his age-related ailments. He is on continuous monitoring and is being treated with active medical support. His response to the medical intervention over the next 24 hours will determine the prognosis,” said the bulletin issued by hospital executive director Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj.
On Monday, when Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President visited the hospital said to the reports that the DMK leader’s health has declined and that all should pray for him to get better.

Minutes later, the crowd outside the hospital began to swell. Karunanidhi’s wife, Dayalu Ammal, also came to the hospital. This was her first visit to the hospital since the five-time chief minister of Tamil Nadu was admitted on July 29. She was brought to the hospital in a wheelchair by her son M K Tamilarasu. Other family members and senior party leaders were also present.
By the time the bulletin was released, there were more than 200 people waiting outside the hospital, raising slogans “ezhunthuvaa thalaivaa.. polaam polaam arivalayam polaam…gopalapuram polaam ….” (Get up and come. Let’s go to Arivalayam, let’s go to Gopalapuram).
As the crowd swelled, traffic police made traffic diversions on the TTK Road.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari visited the hospital on Monday night.
