The Indian Railways is all set to launch the epic Shri Ramayana Yatra Express from Madurai to Tamil Nadu on November 14 on the Ramayana circuit to cover all the major spots related to the Hindu epic, the authorities have announced.
The IRCTC said that the 800-seater train will depart from Madurai and complete its journey at Rameswaram, which is also in Tamil Nadu, in 15 days. “The train will cover all important destinations associated with the life of Lord Shri Ram in a 16-day all-inclusive tour package,” it said.
The IRCTC went on to suggest that the tour will be spread in India and Sri Lanka. It may be noted that the entire package will cover all the meals, accommodation, wash and changing facilities in dharmshalas.
It will also cover all transfers, sight-seeing arrangement and there will be a dedicated tour manager of IRCTC who will travel along with the tourists. Worth mentioning that the entire tour will have two components – one each in India and Sri Lanka. It may be noted that the tour express, which will depart from Madurai will have several stations where passengers will be allowed to board including Dindigul, Karur, Salem, Jolarpet, Katpadi, Chennai Central, Renigunta with the first stopover at Hospet to visit the Ramayana sites of Kishkindha Kandam.
