World’s oldest married pair discloses the ‘SECRET’ behind their happy marriage of nearly “8 Decades” !!!!

Julio César Mora and Waldramina Quinteros Quintero, aged 110 and 104 respectively, got married in Ecuador on February 7, 1941.The Ecuadorian husband and wife with the combined age of 214 years and 358 days have been named the world’s oldest couple by the Guinness World Book of Records.

While Julio was born on March 10, 1910, Waldramina was born on October 16, 1915. They devoted their lives to teaching and now enjoying their retirement.When Waldramina visited her sister during vacations, they met through her sister’s husband, who was Julio’s cousin. Their friendship led to a loving relationship, ended up in their marriage seven years later.The wedding was an intimate and secret affair as their relatives did not agree with the relationship.  The ceremony took place in the oldest church in Quito, La Iglesia de El Belén.

They became parents to five children. They have a family of 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.”Family unity under the rules of love, mutual respect, honest work, and proper education based on family values are the keys to healthy coexistence,” the couple told Guinness World Records.

The couple believes that education is the basis for a developed society. They said, “Promoting education allowed us to map out a route for all generations of our great family. Their secret to a long and happy marriage of nearly eight decades? Love, maturity and mutual respect.The love and maturity that we had as a couple from the beginning of the marriage allowed us to know each other and grow emotionally to define our future,”

“Respect, compassion and consideration with which we maintained our relationship was very important; we never argued or fought. There were disagreements, but they were not noticeable to any of our children who also deserved respect and love.It was not easy because our relatives did not have a good relationship, but with time and patience we were able to unite them and we became an example and the best reference for the younger generations,” they added.
