Since India implemented a nationwide lockdown to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic, today is the 229th day. The state has reported 1,372 fresh positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the positive tally to 3,00,140.
The total number of fatalities rose to 1,410 in the state as another 17 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. As per the reports, more than 4.92 crore people have been infected by the coronavirus and 12.41 lakh have died so far. Of the total fresh covid cases, 796 have been reported from different quarantine centers while the remaining 576 are the local contact cases, the department said. Khorda recorded the highest 145 fresh cases. Even with these active cases, 2,85,174 patients have recovered so far.
