“Obituary”; Veteran actor and father of Sharman Joshi dies at the age of 84

Veteran star Arvind Joshi, who is the father of Sharman Joshi and Mansi Joshi Roy, passed away at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on January 29. He was 84. Joshi was a recognized appearance in the Gujarati theatre and film circuit and starred in Hindi films like Apmaan Ki Aag (1990), Sholay (1975), and Ittefaq (1969). His cremation will be held today afternoon at Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai.

Arvind Joshi, who acted in Gujarati dramas and films along with a few Hindi films, breathed his last Friday morning, January 29, at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital. The veteran actor was not bearing from any disease and died of old age. Komal Nahta took Twitter to notify followers about the sad death of Arvind Joshi. He wrote, “Veteran and respected actor-director of Gujarati theatre, Arvind Joshi, passes away. Condolences to son Sharman Joshi, daughter Mansi Joshi Roy, and the entire family (sic).”

He is sustained by his wife and two children, Sharman Joshi and Mansi Joshi Roy. Mansi is married to actor Rohit Roy, while Sharman is the husband of Prem Chopra’s daughter, Prerana Chopra. Arvind Joshi is associated with a family of actors. He was the brother-in-law of actress Sarita Joshi and uncle of actress Ketki Dave and Purvi Joshi.
