The European Union’s chairman, Charles Michel, told French television station BFM on Monday that there will be a debate about Ukraine becoming a member.
“This is a debate that will take place in any situation,” Michel said, noting that the EU already had a “very powerful” association agreement with Ukraine that could be strengthened.
