Mumbai: The domestic benchmark indices ended higher for second day in a row. The positive trend in the Asian and US markets supported the Indian equity indices.
BSE Sensex surged 934 points or 1.81% to close at 52,532. NSE Nifty moved 289 points or 1.88% up to settle at 15,639. Nifty Midcap 100 rose 3.56% and small-cap jumped 3.42%. All the 15 sector gauges compiled by the National Stock Exchange settled higher. The overall market breadth of BSE was positive as 2,497 shares advanced and 837 declined.

The top gainers in the market were Titan, Hindalco, Coal India, JSW Steel, SBI, TCS, HCL Tech, Dr Reddy’s, Tata Steel, Wipro, Infosys, ITC, Tech Mahindra, L&T, NTPC, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Tata Motors. Nestle India settled lower.
