The dates for the closure of the Chardham temples during the winter season have been officially announced. The president of the Badri Kedar Temple Committee, Ajendra Ajay, disclosed that the Badrinath Dham will cease to be accessible to devotees for the winter season starting from November 18. Furthermore, the world-renowned Yamunotri shrine will also be closed on November 15. This decision was reached during a meeting of the Purohit Samaj at the temple complex in Kharshali village, and the time for closing the portals was chosen to align with the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
The Badri Kedar Temple Committee’s chief executive officer, Yogendra Singh, confirmed that the decision to close the Yamunotri and Badrinath shrines on the auspicious Dussehra day was made. According to the temple committee, the portals of the Yamunotri Dham will be shut for a period of six months commencing on Wednesday, November 15, at 11:57 am, following a special worship ceremony in the Abhijeet Muhurat (Makar Lagna) on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. Several notable individuals, including Suresh Uniyal, Rajswaroop Uniyal, and Pankaj Uniyal, were present during these decisions.
