Keraleeyam Mega Festival in Thiruvananthapuram Set for November 1

On Monday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan unveiled the official schedule for Keraleeyam 2023 in Thiruvananthapuram, emphasizing that the event would serve as a platform to celebrate Kerala’s rich culture. He described the mega festival as an opportunity to showcase the state to the global stage while reaffirming Kerala’s commitment to harmonious coexistence by keeping communal elements at bay.

The grand inauguration of Keraleeyam 2023 is set to take place at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, with distinguished individuals from various spheres, including ambassadors from the UAE, South Korea, Norway, and Cuba, gracing the event on Tuesday. The festival encompasses a wide expanse, spanning 42 venues from Kowdiar to East Fort. From November 2 to 6, 25 seminars will be conducted between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. These seminars, focused on shaping the future course of action in Nava Keralam, will delve into diverse subjects such as gender justice, the welfare of the elderly, land reforms, the fisheries sector, workers’ rights and welfare, and the education sector. Kerala’s exemplary handling of the COVID-19 pandemic will also be a subject of discussion, featuring the insights of over 200 experts who will contribute either in person or virtually.

In the evenings, cultural programs will take center stage, with more than 300 art performances scheduled at 30 different venues, featuring the participation of 4,100 artists. Furthermore, the event will host exhibitions, trade fairs, and food festivals from 10 am to 10 pm. A total of 25 exhibitions will be conducted along the stretch between Kowdiar and East Fort, with eight major exhibitions taking place at locations like Kanakakkunnu, Tagore Theater, University College, Ayyankali Hall, Central Stadium, and Putharikandam Maidan. Keraleeyam 2023 promises to be a vibrant and comprehensive celebration of Kerala’s culture and heritage.
