Mumbai: Indian equity benchmark indices ended lower for the second straight session on November 1. The Indian equity markets started on a negative note and extended losses amid selling in most of the sectors. BSE Sensex ended 63,591.33, down 283.60 points or 0.44%. NSE Nifty settled at 18,989.20, down 90.40 points or 0.47%.
Top losers included Adani Enterprises, Coal India, Adani Ports, SBI Life Insurance and Asian Paints. Top gainers were Sun Pharma, BPCL, Hindalco Industries, Bajaj Auto and Reliance Industries.

Except healthcare, oil & gas and realty all other sectoral indices ended lower with auto, capital goods, metal, Information Technology and power down 0.5-1.5% each. The BSE midcap index shed 0.4%, while smallcap index ended on a flat note.
