Madhya Pradesh election: Clash in Dimani constituency injures two

In the Dimani constituency of Madhya Pradesh, two individuals sustained injuries in a clash that occurred on Friday during the ongoing voting process. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is contesting in this constituency. According to Morena Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh, the clash erupted in Mirdhan village as two groups clashed over efforts to obstruct voters from casting their ballots. Contrary to some inaccurate reports circulating on certain channels, Singh clarified that the injuries sustained by Ajay Sharma and Rampratap Sharma resulted from blows with sticks, dispelling claims of firing and bullet injuries.

Simultaneously, the Election Commission reported that approximately 12 percent of the votes had been cast across the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh by 9 am. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan stated that the polling process is proceeding peacefully in all constituencies. Some electronic voting machines were replaced during mock polling, and technical issues were addressed at various booths. Rajan assured that polling is ongoing without interruptions, with the state recording 11.95 percent turnout by 9 am, comprising 12.1 percent male voters and 11.89 percent female voters. Rajgarh district saw the highest polling at 16.49 percent, while Indore district recorded the lowest at 6.21 percent.
