A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, following an earlier incident that resulted in the death of four Army personnel, including two special forces captains, with two others injured. The fresh firing took place in the Bajimaal area of the Dharmsal belt after an overnight halt, with additional security forces deployed to prevent the terrorists from escaping the highly forested area. The slain Pakistani terrorist, identified as Quari, was described as a hardcore member trained on the Pakistan-Afghan front and a highly ranked leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Active in Rajouri-Poonch for the past year, he is believed to be the mastermind behind attacks in Dangri and Kandi. Quari, sent to revive terrorism in the region, is known for his expertise in improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The encounter is a part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the area, where seven civilians were killed in a Dangri attack earlier this year.
