Doha: In shooting, India’s Anish Bhanwala won India’s first ever medal in 25m rapid-fire pistol event in the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha, Qatar. Anish Bhanwala bagged bronze medal in the event. This was the first medal for India in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event in the ISSF World Cup Final history.
World championship bronze medallist Peter Florian of Germany took the gold with 35 hits while reigning world champion and double Olympic medallist Li Yuehong of China won silver with 33 hits after eight series of five rapid-fire shots. The 21-year-old Anish shot 27 in the final to win the bronze.

This year, Anish Bhanwala bagged a bronze in Cairo — his first-ever individual senior medal at the ISSF World Cup stage. He also claimed a bronze medal at the Asian Shooting Championships in Changwon last month and obtained a Paris 2024 Olympic quota for India in the process.
