Ingredients:
– 1 cup grated tender coconut
– 1 cup grated khoya (reduced milk)
– 1 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
– A pinch of cardamom powder
– Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add grated tender coconut to the pan and sauté until it turns aromatic and slightly golden.
3. Add grated khoya to the pan and mix well with the coconut. Continue to sauté until the khoya is well incorporated.
4. Add sugar to the mixture and stir continuously. Cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.
5. Keep stirring to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
6. Add a pinch of cardamom powder for flavor and continue cooking until the halwa reaches a desired consistency. It should leave the sides of the pan.
7. Remove the pan from heat and let the halwa cool for a few minutes.
8. Once the halwa is warm, shape it into desired molds or simply spread it in a greased plate.
9. Garnish with chopped nuts if desired.
10. Allow the halwa to set for a few hours before cutting it into pieces.
