Temples across the United States are gearing up for a week-long celebration in North America to mark the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22 next year, according to Tejal Shah from the Hindu Mandirs Empowerment Council (HMEC), the apex body of over 1,100 Hindu Temples in the United States. The week-long celebrations across small and large temples in North America will commence on January 15 and conclude with the live telecast of the Ram Temple inauguration from Ayodhya. The Ram Temple inauguration is scheduled for January 22.
Tejal Shah stated that the response has been positive, and thousands of Hindus are expected to watch the inauguration ceremony. The celebrations will include a curtain raiser event on January 15 featuring the chanting of Shri Ram Naam Sankirtan by priests across North America. The main events on January 21-22 will involve lighting up the temples, live broadcasts of the inauguration, conch shell blowing, distribution of prasadams, and more. Participating temples will receive certificates of participation and prasad from Shree Ram Janam Bhumi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Additionally, an exhibit titled ‘Ramayana Around the World’ has been created in commemoration of the Pran Pratistha and the inauguration of the mandir at Shree Ram Janmaboomi in Ayodhya. The exhibit, comprising 26 posters, highlights the significance of Shree Ram and Ramayana in countries around the world, and it is available for display at mandirs and local community centers.
