Commodity Market: Gold prices edge higher for second day in a row

Mumbai:  Price of sovereign gold edged higher for second day in a row in Kerala. Sovereign gold is priced at Rs 46,800, up by Rs 80 per 8 gram.  Yesterday, gold price appreciated by Rs 160 per 8 gram to Rs 46,720.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),  gold futures were trading at  Rs 63,042 per 10 gram,  up by Rs 17 or 0.03%. Meanwhile, silver futures were trading at Rs 75,025 per kg.

In global markets, price of spot gold was steady at $2,066.86 per ounce.  U.S. gold futures rose 0.4% to $2,078.20 per ounce. Gold is  on track to mark an over 10% gain this year – its best since 2020. Price  of spot silver rose 0.2% to $24.25 per ounce, while platinum was steady at $978.56. Palladium fell 0.3% to $1,176.49.

On Comex, the gold futures were trading at $2,075.1 per troy ounce, up $5.85 or 0.28% while the silver futures were trading at $24.46 per troy ounce, up by $0.066 or 0.27%.
