Ingredients:
– 1 kg crab, cleaned and cut into pieces
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 5 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 thumb-sized ginger, grated
– 2-3 green chilies, chopped
– 1 cup tomato sauce
– 1/2 cup chili sauce
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– Salt to taste
– 1 cup water
– Spring onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat.
2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté until aromatic.
3. Add crab pieces to the wok and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until they turn pink.
4. In a bowl, mix together tomato sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and salt.
5. Pour the sauce mixture over the crab and stir well to coat the crab pieces.
6. Add water to the wok, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the crab is fully cooked.
7. Adjust the seasoning if needed. If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer for a few more minutes.
8. Garnish with chopped spring onions.
9. Serve the chili crab hot with steamed rice.
