Washington: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit off the West Coast of the United States. But no tsunami alert was issued.
According to the US Geological Survey(USGS), the 6.0 magnitude earthquake was located on a faultline underneath the Pacific Ocean, 279 kilometers from the city of Bandon in the state of Oregon. The earthquake had a preliminary depth of 10 kilometers. No damage was reported.

The USGS also mentioned that aftershocks—smaller earthquakes that happen after the main quake—are likely to continue in the area.
