
The BCCI revealed the 74-match schedule for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will take place across 13 venues from March 22 to May 25. The season will kick off with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens, with 12 double-header matches scheduled. The season will run for 65 days, with new venues such as Dharamsala, Guwahati, and Visakhapatnam hosting a couple of IPL fixtures each.
As part of the schedule, some teams will play their home games at secondary bases. Punjab Kings will use Dharamsala alongside Mullanpur, Rajasthan Royals will have Guwahati as their second home venue, and Delhi Capitals will start their campaign in Visakhapatnam against Lucknow Super Giants. The first double-header will take place on March 23, featuring Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Rajasthan Royals in the afternoon and Chennai Super Kings vs. Mumbai Indians in the evening.
The IPL’s playoff matches will be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata, with Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator in Hyderabad on May 20-21, followed by Qualifier 2 in Kolkata on May 23. The IPL will continue with its two-group structure from the 2022 expansion, with five teams in each group. Each team will play against every other team in their group twice and against a pre-determined team from the opposite group, while facing the remaining teams once.
