Simple recipe for Breakfast: Banana porridge

Ingredients:
– 1 cup rolled oats
– 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
– 1 ripe banana, mashed
– 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Pinch of salt
– Toppings: Sliced bananas, chopped nuts, a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, combine rolled oats and milk. Place the saucepan over medium heat.

2. Stir in the mashed banana, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

3. Continue to cook the mixture, stirring frequently, until it comes to a gentle boil.

4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the porridge for about 5-7 minutes, or until it reaches your desired thickness. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
